I am not the greatest housewife in the world and any excuse not to perform my duties is always a welcome excuse. However, today I really do have a good excuse not to bother with the laundry. The weather is horrid. It is cold and alternating with lovely sunshine and sideways rain, but the real problem is that it is rather windy too. Our lovely little plastic greenhouse is being buffeted in the garden and in an attempt to minimize any potential damage should the gusts reach the forecast highs of 70km/h I have relocated the seedlings indoors. Here in the lounge on their elevated position, care of the airer, they are safe, warm and benefitting from the sun (when it shines). Laundry services will therefore be on hold until either the weather improves or the cat has another little accident!

The gerneral rule is May 15th here in northern US, what is the summer planting date in your area?
ReplyDeleteVery similar! Although we often have mild springs the local French would never think of planting out tender plants before the 14th May. Traditionally the nights of the 11th, 12th and 13th May are the Nuits Saints de Glace (nights of the Frost saints, for a literal translation). After these dates the frosts are said to be finished for summer!
